Indophil Resources NL ("Indophil") is an ASX listed company (IRN) that was incorporated in Australia in 1996 for the purpose of acquiring, exploring for and developing gold and copper-gold opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region. The Company was founded by a team of successful mineral explorers with extensive Australian and international experience in minerals exploration, including the South East Asia region and in particular the Philippines.
Since formation, the Company has focused its exploration and acquisition activity in the Philippines, generating a portfolio of attractive properties for copper and gold. The jewel in the crown is the world class Tampakan copper-gold deposit acquired in August 2002. Since that time, Indophil and Sagittarius Mines Inc., the operating entity in the Philippines, have been undertaking various activities, including infill and delineation drilling and metallurgical studies, related to a preliminary feasibility study into project viability and subsequent development.
Indophil's majority shareholder is the Lion Selection Group, a Melbourne-based company. Other significant shareholders include Australian Selection, Westpac Custodian Nominees, National Nominees, Xstrata Queensland Limited, JP Morgan Nominees Australia Ltd and ANZ Nominees.
The Indophil Board comprises a blend of experience in the resources sector that will serve the Company well as it moves towards development, and future copper and gold production.
The Company is proud of its environmental track record and is committed to adopting best available practice in caring for, and minimising the impact to, the natural environment in which it operates. The Company and its affiliates are mindful of their responsibility to all stakeholders, in particular those communities impacted by field operations. We maintain close working relationships with these communities through regular dialogue in an open and transparent manner. Our support is strongly focused on improving education, health and sustainable development projects. |
