Xstrata and Stanhill both made unsuccessful takeover offers for Indophil. Xstrata’s offer lapsed on 29 August 2008 and Stanhill’s offer lapsed on 22 September 2008. 

Alsons Corporation has made an offer to Indophil to purchase Indophil’s interest in the Tampakan Project, which is the subject of ongoing discussions. 

It is expected that any agreement to sell Indophil’s interest in the Tampakan project will be subject to Indophil shareholder approval. 

The Indophil Board will advise shareholders if and when an agreement has been reached and provide further information in due course. 

Indophil will hold a Shareholders` General Meeting in Melbourne on Wednesady, 12 November.  Documentation for the meeting has been mailed to shareholders.  A copy is also available on this website.
